{"id":36331,"date":"2014-12-25T13:53:42","date_gmt":"2014-12-25T08:23:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=36331"},"modified":"2014-12-25T13:53:42","modified_gmt":"2014-12-25T08:23:42","slug":"former-waqf-chairman-gets-7-yr-jail-rape-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/former-waqf-chairman-gets-7-yr-jail-rape-case","title":{"rendered":"Former Waqf chairman gets 7-yr jail in rape case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"ms__id809\">Former chairman of Kota Waqf Board Hashru Pathan has been sentenced to seven-year imprisonment in a rape case of 2011.<\/p>\n<p><input id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_HTStoryPageControl_StoryPhoto1_hdntotal\" name=\"ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$HTStoryPageControl$StoryPhoto1$hdntotal\" type=\"hidden\" \/> <span id=\"ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_HTStoryPageControl_StoryPhoto1_ltrVideo\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"ms__id810\">A special court held Pathan guilty under IPC section 376 (rape) and 450 (trespassing) on Tuesday, additional public prosecutor Ritiesh Mewara said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ms__id811\">Judge Deepachand Joshi sentenced Pathan to seven-year imprisonment and also imposed a fine of <span id=\"ms__id812\" class=\"WebRupee\">Rs. <\/span>2,000, he said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"ms__id813\" class=\"clr_lft\">\u00a0Pathan was also sentenced to five-year jail term under Section 450 of the IPC and a fine of <span id=\"ms__id816\" class=\"WebRupee\">Rs. <\/span>1,000 was imposed on him, Mewara said.<\/div>\n<p id=\"ms__id817\">Both the sentences will run simultaneously, he added.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ms__id818\">Pathan, also a Congress leader, was arrested after a woman lodged a rape case against him at Mahaveernagar Police Station on September 24, 2011.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ms__id819\">Pathan, who held the post of the chairman of Kota Waqf Board at the time of the incident, has been in jail since his arrest three years ago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former chairman of Kota Waqf Board Hashru Pathan has been sentenced to seven-year imprisonment in a rape case of 2011.
