It can be downloaded free of cost from the Delhi Police website (www.delhipolice.nic.in).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHimmat\u201d application and service are to be \u0007used only in case of an emergency. The application will help users contact the police in the quickest possible time.<\/p>\n<p>The user will be asked to feed five emergency contact numbers of friends or relatives into the app\u2019s database. When an SOS call is made, a message will be automatically be sent to these five \u0007numbers. \u201cIn this way, not only the police, but the user\u2019s relatives and friends will be able to come to her rescue,\u201d a police officer said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SMS alert is also transmitted simultaneously by the police control room to the police patrol cars in the area and \u0007the local station house officer through the Delhi Police cyber highway,\u201d said the officer.<\/p>\n<p>During an emergency, the mobile app captures audio and video from the environment of the person in distress and transmits the same to the Police Control Room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHimmat caters to the category of employed women who have smartphones and travel alone sometimes late at night.
