After senior journalist Nalini Singh, Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Amar Singh was on Wednesday interrogated by the Delhi Police for two hours in connection with the murder case of Sunanda Pushkar, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife.<\/p>\n
A news website, meanwhile, had earlier quoted Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi as saying that Amar Singh had earlier claimed having some information about the case.<\/p>\n
After being quizzed, Singh refused to divulge details but told reporters that he was asked about the relation Sunanda shared with her husband. He also said that he wanted truth to come out in the case. “I respect Shashi Tharoor. I conveyed to the Delhi Police whatever I knew about Sunanda.”<\/p>\n
Notably, the former Samajwadi Party leader had told mediapersons after the incident that Sunanda was a brave lady and she could not commit suicide.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, reports said the Special Investigating Team (SIT) of the Delhi Police can interrogate Shashi Tharoor again in this regard. Also, Sunanda’s son, Shiv Pushkar Menon, can also be quizzed.<\/p>\n
On January 19, Tharoor was questioned for around three-and-a-half hours. Police officials had then refused to share Tharoor’s answers during the questioning, saying any revelation would hamper the investigation.<\/p>\n
Senior journalist Nalini Singh was questioned on January 23 in connection with the murder case of Sunanda Pushkar. Singh was called by the probe team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Prem Nath at Sarojini Nagar police station, where she was questioned for over an hour.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, Singh told reporters: “Police asked me the sequence of my talk with Pushkar, before her death. They also asked the IPL (Indian Premiere League) angle as well…I don’t know what she wanted to say. But she wanted to speak about the IPL.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel’s room here on January 17, 2014. Police said she was poisoned. A murder case was registered by the police against unknown people January 01 this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
