The law was passed by the Haryana state assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The law also demands that the candidates should not have criminal conviction, pending electricity bills or loan payments.<\/p>\n<p>The Haryana assembly passed the law after Punjab and Haryana high court stayed a similar ordinance issued by the BJP government.<\/p>\n<p>Over a crore voters will be participating in the Haryana panchayat polls which will be held in three phases on October 4, 11 and 18.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Supreme Court on Thursday stays a law in Haryana that has makes it education qualifications mandatory for panachayat polls candidates.
