The family had approached the tribunal claiming a compensation of Rs 1 crore.<\/p>\n<p>The family, which resides in Himachal Pradesh, said in their petition that the incident took place on May 19, 2014, while Chand was walking to the Kashmere Gate Metro Station when the offending truck came at a high speed and hit him from behind.<\/p>\n<p>It said the truck was being driven in a rash and negligent manner and the victim fell down on the road and died on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>The truck driver, in his written statement, denied his involvement in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Family members of an Army man, who died in a road accident involving a rashly driven truck, have been awarded a compensation of around Rs 55 lakh by a Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) here.
