The bench directed that the matter would come up for hearing on November 17 before the regular bench.<\/p>\n<p>Mitra, who was arrested by the CBI on December 12, 2014 for alleged complicity in the Saradha scam, was granted bail by ACJM (in-charge) of Alipore District and Sessions Court Partha Pratim Das.<\/p>\n<p>Mitra had been in the state-run SSKM Hospital since February 11 on the ground of illness and went home from there after being declared fit by a medical board of the hospital, only a day after being granted bail.<\/p>\n<p>The minister&#8217;s bail prayers had earlier been rejected by trial courts on a few occasions and once by the High Court.<\/p>\n<p>Mitra was again admitted to a private hospital on November 3 after complaining of chest discomfort, pain and sweating, at around the same time that the CBI moved the high court on that day seeking cancellation of his bail when the court sat for the day at 10.30 AM.<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Calcutta High Court today directed that West Bengal\u00a0Transport Minister Madan Mitra, an accused in the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam, will remain in house confinement under police surveillance till disposal of a CBI\u00a0plea for cancellation of his bail.
