I will not interfere with security matters,&#8221; said Chief Justice Kaul, asking advocates with grievances to approach the security committee for remedy.<\/p>\n<p>The HC-demarcated campus continued under the new CISF security cover for the second day today.<\/p>\n<p>The Bench, while hearing another related petition by senior Advocate T V Ramanujam, who suggested that the parking facility adjacent to the HC compound wall be utilized by it, assured him that it would look into the aspect.<\/p>\n<p>R C Paul Kanagaraj, president of Madras High Court Advocates Association, said lawyers feel inconvenienced by repeated body frisking by CISF and suggested that more entry points with less body search could be considered.<\/p>\n<p>When another advocate said that CISF personnel should not be allowed to carry rifles inside the campus, the CJ retorted &#8220;do you expect them to stand with Danda?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Refusing to entertain pleas from individual lawyers, the CJ said he could not listen to each one of them and that their grievances may be submitted to the security committee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are not dealing with any perfect situation here. Working problems are bound to be encountered. There is a mechanism to deal with such troubles,&#8221; the CJ said.<\/p>\n<p>He referred to an incident in the Supreme Court, where seniormost Jurist Fali S Nariman forgot to bring his ID card and had to wait outside the Court till he received it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It all depends on the attitude. We are trying to work out a system to work with everybody&#8217;s cooperation,&#8221;he said and then adjourned the matter to January 5, 2016 for further hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new security arrangements which came into force from yesterday, all lawyers, staff and reporters are frisked at entry points and asked to show ID cards by CISF personnel.<\/p>\n<p>On October 14 last, the HC had ordered that the &#8220;inner circle&#8221; of its campuses here and in Madurai should be brought under CISF protection as a temporary measure and directed the state and central governments to jointly formulate a security protocol.<\/p>\n<p>The HC had taken up the suo motu PIL after it saw unruly scenes and obstruction by lawyers agitating for declaration of Tamil as official court language and over contempt of court proceedings against two Madurai-based Bar leaders last month.<\/p>\n<p>On November 4, the apex court had refused to interfere with the HC Court for deployment of CISF by replacing state police security at its Chennai premises.<\/p>\n<p>It had said nobody, including lawyers, can be allowed to hold to ransom the institution which has to remain &#8220;effective&#8221; by maintaining its &#8220;integrity&#8221; and &#8220;dignity.<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Declining to rethink or reconsider its order on CISF\u00a0deployment for security cover to it, the Madras High Court\u00a0today said representatives of the Bar or members who have any suggestions on teething problems can make appropriate representations to the security committee to examine the feasibility of the system.
