{"id":39989,"date":"2015-11-22T10:52:07","date_gmt":"2015-11-22T05:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/?p=39989"},"modified":"2015-11-22T10:52:07","modified_gmt":"2015-11-22T05:22:07","slug":"woman-sentenced-to-life-for-murdering-two-sons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/woman-sentenced-to-life-for-murdering-two-sons","title":{"rendered":"Woman sentenced to life for murdering two sons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A local court has sentenced a married woman to life imprisonment for murdering her two toddler sons in October 2013 at Ramgarh-Sethan town in Sikar district in order to maintain her extra marital relationship.<\/p>\n<p>In his judgement yesterday, the additional district and session court judge Rajesh Chandra Gupta sentenced Priya, aged about 25 years, to life imprisonment for killing her sons three-year-old Dhruv and one-and-a-half-year-old Aditya by suffocating them with a pillow on October 4, 2013 and burying their bodies.<\/p>\n<p>The incident came to light when Priya&#8217;s husband filed an FIR, eight days after the crime was committed.<\/p>\n<p>She was awarded life sentence under section 302 of IPC for the double murder, the judge said.<\/p>\n<p>Priya was having extra-marital affair with one Babulal of Churu while her husband was working in Jalgaon.
