The number of undertrials in jails across the country will be reduced by two-thirds within six months, Law and Justice Minister M. Veerappa Moily said Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf the undertrials, roughly about 200,000 have been in jail for several years essentially because of delays in the justice delivery system,\u201d Moily told reporters at a press conference. <\/p>\n

He was speaking on the bid to ease congestion in jails as part of the judicial reforms process<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
