The Delhi High Court Thursday came to the rescue of an infant who could not be treated in a Haryana government hospital as her family did not have a ration card. The court has directed the Delhi government to immediately bring the baby to the national capital for free treatment.
\nJustice S. Muralidhar gave the direction to the Delhi government on a petition filed by the baby\u2019s aunt who had approached the court saying that a government hospital in Haryana would not provide free treatment as the family had no ration card.<\/p>\n

She pleaded that since their\u2019s was a poor family it would not be possible for her to get the child treated in a private hospital and the court\u2019s intervention is needed for the welfare of the child who had lost her mother at birth.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the peculiar circumstances and the urgency of the matter, it is directed that the respondent (Delhi government) will forthwith arrange for transportation of the new-born baby girl in an emergency ambulance,\u201d the court said.<\/p>\n
