a bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath said.<\/p>\n<p>Petitioner Namrata Mukum, an advocate, sought that &#8220;corrective steps&#8221; be taken by the authorities &#8220;as the traffic situation in Delhi is getting worse because of VVIP movements&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Delhi Police had earlier claimed in the court that VVIP movements do not lead to huge traffic jams in the capital and had also refuted the claims that a woman had given birth to a child inside a bus due to snarls caused during the India- Africa summit in October 2015, attended by VVIPs from 54 African nations.<\/p>\n<p>Police had claimed that ahead of every VVIP movement in Delhi, it issues advisory through newspapers, radio and social media to maintain smooth flow of traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Maintaining that foreign dignitaries have to be given smooth passage for traffic movement as per international protocol, police had also claimed &#8220;at the same time, full care was taken that general public was put to least inconvenience.<\/p>\n<p>Whenever, there were traffic restriction adequate diversion to alternative routes were provided.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Opposing the claims of police, the petitioner had alleged that the cops do not give prior intimation about traffic diversions due to VVIP movements here.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, The Delhi High Court today reserved its verdict on a plea seeking directions to authorities concerned on the issue of public inconvenience due to traffic jams caused by VVIP movements on the roads of the national capital. &#8220;We will go through the response and rejoinder and will pass appropriate order,&#8221;
