\u00a0Taking cognizance of the attack on disgraced former Haryana police chief S.P.S. Rathore and his counsel Narayan Dutt Sharma, a local court here Wednesday adjourned the case in connection with his appeal against his conviction till March 10.<\/p>\n

Rathore, accompanied by his wife and counsel Abha Rathore and Dutt, reached the court Wednesday. On Dutt’s request, additional district and sessions judge Raj Shekhar Attri adjourned the case till March 10.<\/p>\n

Now the case will be heard by the court continuously for three days March 10, 11 and 12.<\/p>\n

On Monday Utsav Sharma, a student had stabbed Rathore thrice in the face outside the district court complex here.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old Sharma had posed as a freelance journalist to reach Rathore. He belongs to Varanasi and is studying film production at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad.<\/p>\n

Rathore has been convicted of molesting Ruchika Girhotra in 1990. The girl committed suicide three years later.<\/p>\n

Rathore was sentenced to six months’ rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.1,000 in the case. He was granted bail after his conviction.<\/p>\n

Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) appeal for enhancement of Rathore’s sentence is also pending in the same court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
