In these circumstances,\u00a0the\u00a0court\u00a0does\u00a0not\u00a0find\u00a0any\u00a0ground\u00a0to\u00a0grant\u00a0 relief to\u00a0the\u00a0appellant.\u00a0Appeal\u00a0is,\u00a0therefore,\u00a0dismissed,&#8221; Additional Sessions Judge Vrinda Kumari said.<\/p>\n<p>The woman, who had earlier secured monthly interim alimony from her husband in the domestic violence case lodged against him, argued\u00a0that\u00a0presence\u00a0of two\u00a0police constables\u00a0with\u00a0her would\u00a0pressurize\u00a0her husband and\u00a0his\u00a0family\u00a0members\u00a0and\u00a0she would\u00a0be able\u00a0to\u00a0attend the\u00a0marriage\u00a0ceremony\u00a0of\u00a0her\u00a0daughter, who lives with her father,\u00a0in\u00a0peace.<\/p>\n<p>The court noted that there is no protection order in favour of the woman and also in her complaint she had not alleged that she was not being allowed to see her children but had merely stated that her kids were brainwashed against her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In\u00a0the\u00a0entire\u00a0complaint\u00a0before\u00a0the\u00a0trial\u00a0court\u00a0as\u00a0well as\u00a0in\u00a0the rejoinder,\u00a0there\u00a0is\u00a0no\u00a0allegation\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0appellant (woman) is\u00a0not being\u00a0allowed to\u00a0see\u00a0her\u00a0children.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In\u00a0the\u00a0rejoinder filed\u00a0before the court, the woman has\u00a0merely\u00a0stated\u00a0that\u00a0her children have\u00a0been\u00a0brain-washed\u00a0by the\u00a0husband and\u00a0are\u00a0not being imparted any religious training. There is no specific allegation\u00a0that\u00a0the husband had\u00a0ever\u00a0 restrained\u00a0her\u00a0from\u00a0visiting her\u00a0children,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>A magisterial court had on January 19, 2016 granted the woman interim maintenance from her estranged husband in which the court did not consider her prayer for police protection.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the woman moved two applications- one for release of the cheque deposited by her husband pursuant to maintenance order and the second seeking police protection to attend the wedding of her daughter, who lives with her father.<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Domestic Violence Act cannot be made a tool for using cops to pressurise others, a Delhi court has said while dismissing a woman&#8217;s plea seeking police protection to attend her daughter&#8217;s wedding.
