Krishna on Thursday said India will take up with<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiaeducation.net\/studyabroad\/uk\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Britain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span>cases of students not getting their fees refunded on courses they could not pursue due to<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiaeducation.net\/studyabroad\/uk\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Britain<\/span><\/a>&#8216;s decision to temporarily suspend student visas from three Indian cities.<\/p>\n<p>This was conveyed by Krishna during a reply to supplementaries during question hour in Rajya Sabha.<\/p>\n<p>Krishna informed the Parliament that<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiaeducation.net\/studyabroad\/uk\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Britain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span>had temporarily stopped accepting student visa applications at three centres in New Delhi, Jalandhar and<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chandigarheducation.net\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Chandigarh<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The three centres saw a dramatic six-fold surge in applications to 13,500 during October-December 2009 against only 1,800 applications during the same period in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a result of abnormal rise in applications, they (UK) thought it is necessary for them to take a second look at the process of issuing visas for various courses,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The British government had partially lifted the ban on accepting visa applications from north India for higher studies last month<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>External Affairs Minister S.M.
