The said acts of the convict are detrimental to the peace of the society,&#8221; the court said.<\/p>\n<p>The court also held that merely because it was mentioned in the medical certificate that the injury was simple, it is not sufficient to &#8220;dilute the act&#8221; of the accused as it was inflicted on the left side of the chest near the heart.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Therefore, merely because in the said MLC (Medico Legal Certificate), it was mentioned that the injury was simple, is not sufficient to dilute the act of the accused,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the FIR, Jayant Chatterjee was clicking photographs of his sister and brother-in-law at a wedding reception in Pitampura on December 8, 2014, when Shashi came from behind and tried to snatch his mobile. When Chatterjee resisted the snatching, Shashi pulled out a knife and slashed him.<\/p>\n<p>When the Chatterjee&#8217;s brother-in-law Rajiv Bhasin came to his rescue, the accused inflicted a knife wound on the left side of Bhasin&#8217;s chest, the FIR said, adding that Shashi was overpowered by the crowd gathered there and handed over to the police.<\/p>\n<p>During trial, Shashi denied all incriminating evidence and claimed innocence saying he was falsely implicated in the case.<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A youth has been sent to seven years in jail by a Delhi court on charges of attempt to murder a man in a failed robbery attempt on the sidelines of a wedding reception in Northwest Delhi two years ago.
