When her conduct became unbearable, his parents asked them to live in a separate accommodation in another portion of the same house, he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also claimed his wife had not permitted him to have physical relations for last four-and-a-half-year.<\/p>\n<p>In her written statement filed before the trial court, the wife had initially contested the divorce plea filed by the husband while denying all allegations.<\/p>\n<p>In its judgement, the bench referred to the settled legal position that &#8220;denial of sex to a spouse itself amounts to causing mental cruelty&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The appeal being well founded deserves to be allowed,&#8221; it said, adding &#8220;we grant a decree of divorce in favour of the husband on the ground of cruelty by dissolving his marriage with the wife that had been solemnised&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Denying sex to husband for a long time without any justification amounts to mental cruelty and is a ground for divorce, Delhi High Court has said.
