A city court Friday deferred its decision on a plea by Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, that he has not been given all the documents by the Central Bureau of nvestigation (CBI).<\/p>\n

Sajjan Kumar has claimed that extracts of certain documents were not given to him by the CBI.<\/p>\n

Counsel for Kumar, I.U. Khan said the complete action taken report has not been brought on record by the CBI.<\/p>\n

“There are only extracts of the report in the charge sheet. Also there are different charge sheets and FIRs (first information reports) filed in different courts which are also not in the charge sheet given to us by the CBI,” Khan said.<\/p>\n

The CBI countered it by saying that all the related documents and certified copies have already been submitted with the charge sheet and Sajjan Kumar does not have the right to ask for the entire record as he is an accused.<\/p>\n

Additional Sessions Judge Sunita Gupta has reserved the order for April 20.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The CBI has chargesheeted Sajjan Kumar and others in two cases for allegedly instigating mobs after the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards Oct 31, 1984.<\/p>\n

Over 3,000 Sikhs were killed across Delhi in the communal frenzy in the days following the assassination.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
