He was arrested the next day.<\/p>\n<p>The detention was challenged before the High Court in a writ petition.<\/p>\n<p>The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti leader has been lodged in Dibrugarh jail since his arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Gogoi has been leading an agitation against the government&#8217;s handling of the farming crisis in Assam, the building of dams, land mafia and corruption in public life.<\/p>\n<p>( Source &#8211; PTI )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Gauhati High Court today termed as illegal the detention of RTI activist and Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti leader Akhil Gogoi under the National Security Act (NSA).
