(AP Photo\/Tsering Topgyal)&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;1455716499&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;24&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;640&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0.002&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;APTOPIX India Student Protests&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;1&quot;}\" data-image-title=\"APTOPIX India Student Protests\" data-image-description=\"\" data-image-caption=\"\" data-medium-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/lawyers.jpg?fit=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/lawyers.jpg?fit=500%2C333&amp;ssl=1\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-51425\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/lawyers.jpg?resize=300%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/lawyers.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/lawyers.jpg?resize=150%2C100&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/lawyers.jpg?w=500&amp;ssl=1 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The Delhi High Court today sought action taken report from the Delhi Police on the issue of\u00a0 recent attacks on properties of three advocates as &#8220;startling&#8221; and said that &#8220;It is a matter of deep pain as the incidents could have caused loss to the life and property of the lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar directed that the report should be filed under the signature of a senior police officer, which shall be shown to the Delhi Police commissioner.<\/p>\n<p>It directed that the report should be filed in two days as the incident warrants swift and necessary action.<\/p>\n<p>The court&#8217; direction came while initiating the proceeding on its own after taking note of the fact that lawyers abstained from the work on January 25 in view of the attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The executive committee of the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) had on January 24 passed a resolution condemning the January 9 and 22 attacks on the properties and cars of senior advocates Vikas Pahwa and Kirti Uppal, who is also the president of the DHCBA, by using inflammable substances.<\/p>\n<p>A similar incident took place on January 4 when the two cars&#8211; a Maruti Swift and a Honda Amaze&#8211; parked in the east Delhi house of advocate Ravi Sharma were allegedly torched by unidentified persons.<\/p>\n<p>Separate FIRs have been lodged by thepolice which said the three lawyers were representing a woman colleague in the Delhi High Court in a property dispute with her relatives.<\/p>\n<p>The woman lawyer, against whom a stalking case was lodged, was also allegedly dragged out of her residence by the police to arrest her despite court orders against coercive action.<\/p>\n<p>According to the police, attempts to set ablaze Pahwa&#8217;s Greater Kailash office building and cars were made on January 9.<\/p>\n<p>On January 22, Uppal&#8217;s Hyundai Tucson car that was parked outside his house in south Delhi&#8217;s Nizamuddin West, was set on fire by unidentified miscreants.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a plea has been moved before the high court seeking a court-monitored SIT probe into the attacks on the lawyers, besides guildelines for advocates&#8217; security.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Delhi High Court today sought action taken report from the Delhi Police on the issue of\u00a0 recent attacks on properties of three advocates as &#8220;startling&#8221; and said that &#8220;It is a matter of deep pain as the incidents could have caused loss to the life and property of the lawyers.
