Hardik&#8217;s lawyer sought adjournment of the hearing as his application\u00a0seeking discharge from the case is before the Gujarat High Court,\u00a0and is likely to be heard on October 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sessions judge D P Mahida accepted the request and deferred the framing of charges &#8212; a process after which trial starts &#8212; to October 12.Earlier, the court witnessed heated exchanges between the prosecution and defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Patel is facing two cases of sedition filed by Ahmedabad and Surat police in 2015 after the quota agitation violence in which 14 persons were killed in police firing.\u00a0Hardik, who is out of bail in the case, had moved the high court in April this year after the lower court rejected his discharge application.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AHMEDABAD: A local court in Ahmedabad\u00a0\u00a0deferred the process of framing of charges against\u00a0\u00a0Hardik Patel and two others in a sedition case to next month.
