Venugopal, appearing for the CBI, brought the issue to the apex court&#8217;s notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The stay order from an apex court\u00a0comes just 24 hours after the CBI was pulled up \u2014 on September 17 \u2014 by the High Court for not handing over the baton to Mr. Asthana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Muzaffarpur horror came to light when the Bihar Social Welfare Department filed an\u00a0social audit and was conducted by the Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top court\u00a0listed the matter for further hearing on 20 September.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI:\u00a0The Supreme Court stayed a Patna High Court order\u00a0asking the CBI special director to set up a fresh team for\u00a0Bihar\u2019s Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case.\u00a0The Apex Court bench comprising Justice MB Lokur and Justice Deepak Gupta\u00a0\u00a0said changing the CBI team at this stage will be detrimental to the ongoing investigation.
