{"id":54381,"date":"2018-10-09T17:09:02","date_gmt":"2018-10-09T11:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/?p=54381"},"modified":"2018-10-09T17:09:09","modified_gmt":"2018-10-09T11:39:09","slug":"sc-seeks-response-of-centre-on-plea-seeking-nrc-for-tripura","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/sc-seeks-response-of-centre-on-plea-seeking-nrc-for-tripura","title":{"rendered":"SC seeks response of Centre on plea seeking NRC for Tripura"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><br\/>New Delhi:\u00a0<\/strong>The Supreme Court Monday sought response from the Centre on a plea seeking implementation of the national register for citizens (NRC) in Tripura to identify illegal immigrants in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A bench comprising Justices Ranjan Gogoi and Justices S K Kaul and K M Joseph considered the petition filed by Tripura People&#8217;s Front seeking registration of citizens of Tripura in the NRC to identify illegal immigrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Centre had on July 30 published a second draft NRC list of Assam in which out of 3.29 crore people, names of 2.89 crore were included.
