Wickremesinghe on the other hand commands a majority in the House.&nbsp;<br>The island nation plunged into political crisis after Sirisena removed PM Wickremesinghe on October 26 and appointed former president Mahinda Rajapaksa in his place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The petitioners argued the legality of the provisions of Articles 33, 62, and 70 of the Srilankan constitution.&nbsp;The ruling can see Wickremesinghe return to office.&nbsp;Udaya Gammanpila, a minister in the Cabinet, said: \u201cWe respect the decision of the Supreme Court although we are not in agreement with its interpretations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--EndFragment--><br>\n<br>\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI:&nbsp;The Supreme Court in Colombo on Thursday&nbsp;ruled as &#8220;unconstitutional&#8221; the move of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena\u2019s decision to dissolve parliament ahead of its term.&nbsp;A seven-member apex court bench said that the President cannot dissolve Parliament till Parliament completes a 4 1\/2 year term.
