But the high court noted that the investigators failed to record the statements of eyewitnesses who had rushed the victims to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>It also noted that one of the main prosecution witnesses had been drunk when his testimony was recorded.<\/p>\n<p>The police made several modifications &amp; overwrote many entries in its records, the HC noted.<\/p>\n<p>The material on record \u201ccreated serious doubt on the version of the prosecution\u201d, the division bench said, adding that the convicts be \u201cset free immediately\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A bench of justices B P Dharmadhikari &amp; S K Shinde set free Irappa Dhangar, Irfan Shaikh &amp; Balu Chavan.
