Taking cognisance of the mysterious death of prominent industrialist Anil Nanda’s driver, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Friday said it is planning to seek a report on the matter from the Delhi Police.<\/p>\n

“The move is under consideration of the NHRC, we have to take a decision on it yet,” an NHRC official said.<\/p>\n

The NHRC was contacted by driver Janeshwar Sharma’s family members.<\/p>\n

Sharma, 41 and a former armyman, was admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital June 9 with 80 percent burns and died a week later on June 15.<\/p>\n

No one has been arrested so far even as police registered a case of murder.<\/p>\n

Sharma’s brother Yogesh Friday said: “The police are not doing anything because of political reasons.”<\/p>\n

He said industrialist Nanda was being favoured. “I want life imprisonment for the accused persons,” Yogesh told reporters.<\/p>\n

Before his death, in an interview to CNN-IBN, Sharma said he was being forced by Nanda’s associates to tail the industrialist’s business partner. He said he had protested and was threatened with dismissal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
