A city court Thursday sent three men, arrested on charges of the honour killing of a couple and another woman, to 14 days of judicial custody.<\/p>\n
Metropolitan Magistrate Satish Kumar sent the three accused to judicial custody till July 14. Earlier, the accused were on a five-day police remand.<\/p>\n
The police told the court that the accused are yet to be arrested in connection with the murder of Shobha, the third victims.<\/p>\n
‘A separate FIR (first information report) was lodged in this regard,’ police said.<\/p>\n
The three – Mandeep Nagar, 23, Ankit Chaudhury, 22, and Nakul Khari, 21 – were arrested June 24 from Garh Mukteshwar, about 90 km from here in Ghaziabad district.<\/p>\n
According to police, the accused have confessed to murdering Monica, her husband Kuldeep and Monica’s cousin Shobha in what are believed to be honour killings.<\/p>\n
Monica and Kuldeep belonged to different castes and their families were against their marriage while Shobha had allegedly helped her sister Khushbu, a model, to elope with a man from another caste.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the investigators have also asked for the court’s permission to interrogate the accused for half-an-hour in the court premises in connection with Shobha’s murder.<\/p>\n
