{"id":6119,"date":"2010-07-15T23:33:13","date_gmt":"2010-07-15T18:03:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=6119"},"modified":"2010-07-15T23:33:13","modified_gmt":"2010-07-15T18:03:13","slug":"court-rejects-lalit-modis-plea-to-stay-bcci-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/court-rejects-lalit-modis-plea-to-stay-bcci-action","title":{"rendered":"Court rejects Lalit Modi&#8217;s plea to stay BCCI action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bombay High Court Thursday rejected suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi\u2019s plea to stay the Board of Control for Cricket in India\u2019s (BCCI) disciplinary proceedings against him.<\/p>\n<p>The court, however, said that the \u201cBCCI disciplinary panel should keep Modi\u2019s objections in mind\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Modi\u2019s attorney Mehmood Abdi ducked answering any questions on the issue. \u201cWe will wait for the written copy of the court\u2019s order and plan out next step accordingly,\u201d Abdi told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Modi had on July 8 appealed to the court to appoint a mutually acceptable panel to consider the replies to the three show cause notices issued to him for alleged irregularities in the conduct of the IPL Twenty20 League.<\/p>\n<p>The BCCI had suspended Modi April 25.
