~ Decision confirms no requirement for a sporting body to formally tie up with the International Baccalaureate ~<\/p>\n\n\n\n
National<\/strong>: The International Schools Sports Organisation (ISSO), represented by Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra and briefed by Atharva Legal LLP, welcomes the Delhi High Court\u2019s order dated 16 September 2025, which has stayed the arbitrary suspension of ISSO\u2019s affiliation with the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Hon\u2019ble Court has directed that until further orders, the impugned suspension dated 23.08.2025 and the letter dated 04.09.2025 which sought to alter the established qualification pathway for international curriculum students \u2014 shall remain stayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking on the favourable move, Senior Advocate, Mr. Rahul Mehra <\/strong>said, \u201cThe Delhi High Court has been a beacon of hope for Indian sports and sportspersons. We welcome the decision to stay the suspension of ISSO ensuring that International curriculum athletes can continue to participate in ISSO Nationals as a pathway towards National School Games and Khelo India Youth Games.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This ensures that the ISSO Nationals 2025 will continue as the recognized pathway for participation in the 69th National School Games<\/strong>, and thereby, qualification for the Khelo India Youth Games<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since 2017, ISSO has served as the sole affiliating body for international curriculum schools across India, enabling students to compete fairly and progress through the pyramidal sporting structure alongside their peers from CBSE, ICSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and other boards. Over the years, 900+ international curriculum schools and more than 25,000 student-athletes across 22 sporting disciplines and 4 age categories have relied on ISSO as their gateway to the National School Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Court\u2019s order recognizes the grave impact that would have been caused by disrupting this pathway and has reaffirmed that the interests of international curriculum students must be safeguarded.
