Delhi Police Tuesday filed a 700-page chargesheet against Madhuri Gupta, a junior Indian diplomat arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan\u2019s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and accused her of breach of trust.<\/p>\n
The chargesheet, filed before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja, said Gupta sent 73 emails from October 2008 to March 2010 to her Pakistani handlers using two email IDs – sultanrao@gmail.com and madsmiles@gmail.com.<\/p>\n
She has been charged with breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and various other provisions of the Official Secrets Act.<\/p>\n
As per the chargesheet, Gupta came in touch with two people namely Jamshed and Mubashar Raza Rana who worked with Pakistan intelligence agencies through a journalist of Jung newspaper, Javed Rashid.<\/p>\n
It also gives details about her official computer in Islamabad, four other CPUs, 39 CDs and 21 floppy disks apart from statements of external affairs ministry officials, police officers, high commission officials, forensic experts and technical evidence.<\/p>\n
During investigation, police found that Gupta had given her observations, details of meetings of Indian officials in Islamabad, transfers of officers and press clippings to her handler in Pakistan through emails.<\/p>\n
The chargesheet said Gupta visited Jammu and Kashmir in March this year following instructions given by Rana to procure the annual plan report of the state.<\/p>\n
During earlier surveillance, the security agencies had zeroed in on a couple residing in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir who were in regular touch through email and telephone with Gupta, the chargesheet said.<\/p>\n
Some of the emails exchanged between Gupta and the Rajouri woman are part of the documents being held as evidence against the diplomat.<\/p>\n
Joginder Dasiya, counsel for Gupta, told the court that he is yet to get the copy of the chargesheet.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe court will take the cognisance of the chargesheet tomorrow (Wednesday),\u201d said Dasiya.<\/p>\n
