{"id":7493,"date":"2010-11-24T14:59:14","date_gmt":"2010-11-24T09:29:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.in\/news\/?p=7493"},"modified":"2010-11-24T14:59:14","modified_gmt":"2010-11-24T09:29:14","slug":"haryana-bureaucrat-gets-five-years-jail-for-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legalindia.com\/news\/haryana-bureaucrat-gets-five-years-jail-for-fraud","title":{"rendered":"Haryana bureaucrat gets five years&#8217; jail for fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Haryana bureaucrat has been sentenced by a court in Karnal to five years&#8217; imprisonment in a case of fraud, an official of the state vigilance bureau said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Additional District and Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar sentenced Haryana Civil Services officer Deveshwar Dayal to five years&#8217; imprisonment and imposed a penalty of Rs.45,000 on him.<\/p>\n<p>The Haryana vigilance bureau had earlier filed a case against him following an enquiry in Karnal for fraudulently printing penalty slip (challan) books during his tenure as Haryana Roadways general manager, the official said.<\/p>\n<p>Dayal was posted as Haryana Roadways general manager in Karnal from October 1999 to May 2001.
