Mehta approached the high court after the state government rejected his claim for salary at the rate of Rs.80,000 per month, double of what he was paid.<\/p>\n<p>He headed the Gujarat Public Works Contracts Arbitration Tribunal from Jan 1, 2006, to Oct 12, 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The matter was listed for Thursday but was put off till Jan 18.<\/p>\n<p>The state government rejected the former judge&#8217;s representation Feb 6, 2010, claiming that the demand was not tenable.<\/p>\n<p>The retired judge claimed in his plea that he was entitled to salary as per the state government resolutions and directives of the central government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A retired Gujarat High Court judge has approached the court claiming salary dues on the ground that he should have been paid a higher salary than what he got during his nearly 10-month tenure as a tribunal chairman in 2006.
