The authorities of Yerwada jail in Pune, where Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been kept, have approached a special TADA court here against allowing home food to the actor, citing the prison manual.
Mr. Dutt, a convict in the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts, has been booked under the Arms Act for illegal possession of weapons and the Supreme Court has sentenced him to five years in jail.
The actor surrendered in front of the court here on May 16 after the court order.
The application, which was filed on Monday, is likely to be heard next week.
He was initially kept in Arthur Road jail and was later shifted to Yerwada. The actor had sought permission for consuming home food when he surrendered.
