The Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow bench Tuesday dismissed Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi’s petition, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the arson attack at her house during the Mayawati regime.
The order was passed by a division bench of Justice S.N. Shukla and Justice R.V.S. Rathore who disposed the petition as dismissed.
Joshi’s house was set on fire by BSP supporters and workers on July 16, 2009 after she made some uncharitable remarks about Chief Minister Mayawati.
