A special CBI court here Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) secretary general Lalit Bhanot and four others accused in a corruption case related to the sporting event held in 2010.
The accused were arrested for alleged irregularities in awarding a contract for timing, scoring and result (TSR) equipment for the Games.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Special Judge Talwant Singh said: “The bail applications of all five accused are dismissed.”
Apart from Bhanot, the other accused whose bail applications were dismissed were former OC officials M. Jayachandran, Surjit Lal and A.S.V Prasad and CMD of Hyderabad-based A.K.R. Constructions A.K. Reddy.
The court said that after scrutiny of documents the case would be taken up on a day-to-day basis.
