Here in Fatehgarh Sahib-based court the Indian pugilist and Olympic bronze medalist Vijender Singh’s friend and fellow boxer Ram Singh, who was formally arrested had been presented.
Ram Singh, a former Head Constable of Punjab police, who was recently dismissed by Punjab police, was presented in the court under tight security arrangements.
The court remanded Ram in police custody till April 7.
Talking to media persons, relatives of Ram Singh alleged that he was implicated in a false case. They said Ram was in police custody from long time and he was not allowed to visit them.
Ram was arrested by Fatehgarh Sahib police for his close links to his brother-in-law Ravicharan alias Ravi Deo. Police had claimed to recover five kg methamphetamine from Ravi Deol’s Sangrur house recently.
