Court grants 15 years jail term to convicts of BJP leader murder

The Hasanparthy village sarpanch and fourteen others were sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder committed seven years ago.

Warangal district court Judge E Thirumala Devi granted fifteen of the sixteen accused a sentence of life imprisonment in connection with the murder of a BJP leader, G Ashok Reddy.

According to the Police, on Mar 3, 2012, a sixteen member settlement gang allegely attacked and killed local BJP leader G Ashok Reddy at an isolated place between Nagaram – Ambala villages in Hasanparthy mandal, to prevent him from getting involved in local village matters.

On Mar 3, Ashok Reddy and his wife Mamatha were travelling towards Nagaram village in the evening. The settlement gang way-laid the couple and attacked the duo with knifes. Ashok Reddy’s wife Mamata tried to rescue her husband and in the process sustained several serious injuries. Ashok Reddy was declared brought dead to MGM hospital.

The then inspector Mojes registered a case against the sixteen persons under Section 148, 302, 120(B) as well as 149 IPC and 341 IPC on the complaint of Mamatha.

The main accused Kondapaka Bixpathi alias Raghu is the present sarpanch of the Hasanparthy village in Warangal rural district.

The other accused are are Bandari Ganesh, Gouru Bargavan Reddy, Siluveru Ashok, Bandari Ganesh, Kukkamudi Jayaraj, Damera Rajkumar, Merugu Raju, Ravula Karnakar, Dunnapothula Srikanth, Gunti Rajendra Prasad, Gouru Yadagiri Reddy, Poreddy Sammi Reddy, Boddukuri Sammaiah, Damera Yadagiri, and Bandari Sambaiah.
