Indrani suffering from suspected dengue, court told

Byculla women’s prison authorities on Wednesday informed a metropolitan magistrate court here that Indrani Mukerjea, the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, might be suffering from dengue.

“We have informed the court that Mukerjea is suffering from suspected dengue and her platelet levels have gone down to 65,000,” a jail official said.

He further said that doctors from JJ hospital are attending to Indrani in the prison, and if its imperative to admit her to hospital, then she will be taken there.

Indrani, Khanna and Rai have been arrested on the charge of murdering 24-year-old Sheena and disposing off her body in a Raigad forest in April 2012.

The jail officer’s report, submitted to magistrate R V Adone, came after the court on Tuesday directed prison authorities to produce Indrani in view of an application made by the CBI seeking her voice samples.
