Janardhana Reddy sent to judicial custody till Oct 3

Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, A special court today sent former Karnataka Minister and ‘Mining’ Baron Gali Janardhana Reddy and Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) Director B Srinivas Reddy to judicial custody till October 3 in an illegal mining case.

The six-day custodial interrogation of former Karnataka Minister and his brother-in-law Srinivas Reddy by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), concluded yesterday.

The agency produed the duo before the special court here at the Nampally Criminal Court Complex amid tight security in the morning.

They were arrested by CBI from Bellary in Karnataka on September 5 in connection with the illegal mining case registered against OMC, owned by Janardhana Reddy, in 2009.

They were brought to Hyderabad the same day and the court sent them to Chanchalguda Central Jail on judicial remand on the same day.

The CBI picked them up for custodial interrogation for six days on court orders after two-days of hectic arguments on September 13.
