A money changer has alleged that he lost foreign currencies valued at Rs.150,000 after a Delhi Metro ride but the CISF Friday raised doubts about the claim.
Police said Dileep Singh, who works for a private travel company, claimed he boarded Delhi Metro at Rithala station Wednesday afternoon. He was headed to Peeragarhi.
After coming out of the station, he found the dollars and euros missing. He filed a police complaint.
Police said the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was also probing the matter as it guards Metro stations.
CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh told IANS: “We suspect Dileep Singh because he never handed over his bag to anyone during his journey. It is surprising how the money was stolen from his bag.”
