A local court today reserved order on transfer of a criminal complaint case against former Nagaland chief minister and Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio from the court of chief judicial magistrate here to another court.
Complainant Rosemary Dzuvichu had on February 11 filed a criminal complaint before CJM Kohima against Rio for filing a wrong affidavit regarding his educational qualification in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
After hearing the arguments from the lawyers representing Dzuvichu and Rio, Principal District and Session judge Moangkaba Imchen reserved the judgement.
A hearing was earlier fixed for June 27 last in the court of CJM Kohima Mezivolu T Therieh. However, Rio’s counsel had filed a petition before the Principal District and Session Judge seeking transfer of the case from the CJM’s court to another court within its division, claiming that the MP would not get justice from there.
Dzuvichu’s advocate alleged that Rio was trying to delay the proceedings of the criminal hearing.
