Sania Mirza will not be known as Sania Malik afer her marriage with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik as the Indian tennis star has decided to retain her maiden name.

In an interview to ‘People’ magazine along with husband and former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik, Sania said, “no matter what happens I am always going to be Sania Mirza.

May later I’ll add his name (sic).”

She said they have chosen Palm Jumeirah in Dubai as their new residence.

“My husband wants to live in Palm Jumeirah and I am not fussy, so that’s where we live,” says Sania.

The couple said their courtship developed over telephone after the first few meetings.

“Suddenly we were constantly texting and then we started talking on the phone for hours. So that’s where things started for us,” says Sania

  1. If Sania regains her maiden name then it is better for Shoib to quit from her life. If not he would address himself as h/o Sania
It is the woman empowerment that is making woman to break traditions. If she is not willing to change her maidnen name
then it means that she has no adapatability or sacrifice nature. The nuptial life of female celebrities won’t stand for
life time. She does not know that ‘replacing maiden name with husband’s family name’ sustains the feeling of unity and
oneness among family members. If she is still Sania Mirza, then she belongs to Mirza family, and does not
belong to Malik family. What the heck she is… She should know that behind every indian tradition, there is
    a purpose and meaning.
