Sheena case: Police custody of accused extended till Sept 5

The police custody of Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai, who are the accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, has been extended till September 5.

Indrani fainted in the court premises briefly and was provided medical assistance immediately. She was also allowed to meet her daughter Vidhi in court by the magistrate.

All the three accused reached the Bandra Court around 2:45 pm.

Fresh charge of attempt to murder (Section 307) had been added by prosecution against Indrani and she was also accused of attempting to kill Mikhael Bora, as reported by the media.

Earlier, Indrani Mukerjea’s counsel had complained to Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria on Monday that his officers are resorting to pressuring methods to extract a confession from her.

The counsel said that they were not allowed to meet their client late on Saturday night and that Indrani’s face was bruised & swollen. The lawyers also alleged that the Mumbai police had beaten her up in custody.
