The Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College is the great grand child of the prestigious Bishop Cotton School which found its establishment in the year 1865. In 1911 the School was bifurcated and the Bishop Cotton Girls School was housed in Stanford House. In 1985, Bishop Cotton College was started which was upgraded to Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Degree College in 1987. They moved into the present campus in 1999. This College being dedicated to the cause of women’s higher education which is considered to be a vital service to the nation, took initiative to start a Law College exclusively for woman as it was felt that woman should know their rights and should fight for their cause.
