Facts
: i
1. The appeal was scheduled for hearing on 7/6/2010. But, the appellant did
not avail of the opportunity of personal hearing. The appeal is, therefore,
examined on merit.
2. The appellant has asked for information relating to allotment of Gas
Agency under SC category. The CPIO and the Appellate Authority have
furnished partial information, while the remaining information relating to the
acquisition of land by the allottee has been refused u/s 8(1) (d) of the Act. Being
dissatisfied with the replies of the CPIO and the Appellate Authority, the appellant
has pleaded for providing complete information.
Decision:
3. The process of allotment of LPG dealership to different categories of
aspirants should be objective and transparent. Therefore, there is no justification
for withholding any information, on the basis of which the decision to award the
dealership has been taken.
4. The CPIO is, therefore, directed to furnish the information asked for and
also allow the appellant inspection of complete records within 15 working days
from the date of receipt of this decision failing which penalty proceedings u/s
20(1) of the Act would be initiated.
