                          J U D G M E N T

The petitioner retired voluntarily from the service of the

State Bank of Travancore on medical ground. According to the

petitioner, the petitioner is entitled to ex-gratia lumpsum

payment available to persons who have retired voluntarily on

medical ground. Seeking this relief, Ext.P3 application was

submitted by the petitioner before the 1st respondent. For the

present, the petitioner would be satisfied with a direction to the

1st respondent to consider and pass orders on Ext.P3

expeditiously.

I have heard the standing counsel appearing for the

respondents also. Having heard both sides, I dispose of this writ

petition with a direction to the 1st respondent to consider and

pass orders on Ext.P3 as expeditiously as possible, at any rate

within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy

of this judgment, after affording an opportunity of being heard

to a representative of the petitioner.
