KUNWAR JITIN PRASADA (SHAHJAHANPUR): It was in June, 2000 that the then Minister of Power had informed that M/s. Rosa Power Supply Company Limited, District Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh was accorded Techno-economic clearances of CEA in September, 1997. Thereafter, the project had obtained almost all the necessary clearances. Some critical issues relating to Railway sidings, etc. stood in the way of finalisation of fuel supply and transportation agreements. These issues were considered in an inter-Ministerial meeting in May, 2000 and the Minister had issued directions that the FSA should be finalised urgently. It was also made known that the project was being closely monitored by the Crisis Resolution Group constituted in the Ministry of Power at the instance of the hon. Prime Minister of India. It is not known whether the construction activities have commenced. If not, what steps are being taken by the Ministry of Power to get the project completed by Rosa Power Supply Company Limited?
I request the Government to look into the matter.
