(PURULIA) : A large part of Purulia district is not covered by railways. It is a long standing demand of the people of Purulia for construction of new railway line from Jhargram to Purulia. The survey works for this purpose was made. This work will be made shortest distance route to connect Haldia city to Bokaro Steel City and Dhanbad of Jharkhand. The proposed railway line in backward and tribal areas will help in areas’ development and provide additional revenues for railways.

I urge upon to Government to take necessary steps for construction of a new Railway line from Jhargram to Purulia at earliest possible.
