Allahabad High Court
Chandra Shekhar And Others vs Settlement Officer Of … on 3 August, 2010
Court No. - 19

Case :- WRIT - B No. - 45167 of 2010

Petitioner :- Chandra Shekhar And Others
Respondent :- Settlement Officer Of Consolidation And Others
Petitioner Counsel :- Anand Priya Singh
Respondent Counsel :- C.S.C.

Hon'ble Mrs. Poonam Srivastava,J.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing
Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents.

The only request made by the petitioners in the instant petition is
for a direction to the Appellate Authority for disposal of their
appeal pending before him since the year 2005.

No question on merit requires adjudication. However, the prayer
appears to be innocuous. The writ petition is finally disposed of
with a direction to the Settlement Officer Consolidation, Mau to
expedite and decide the appeal No. 1271 of 2005 under Section 11
(1) of the C.H. Act (Jagdish Singh Vs. Virendra Singh and others)
as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of four
months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order
before him. The Settlement Officer of Consolidation is further
directed to ensure not to grant any undue adjournment to either of
the parties whatsoever.

With the above observations, the writ petition stands finally
disposed of.

Order Date :- 3.8.2010
