Title: Need to reschedule stoppage of Train No. 3151 UP, 3049 UP and 3911 UP at platform no. 1 of Burdwan railway station, West Bengal with a view to provide easy access to parcel office- Laid.
(CALCUTTA, NORTH EAST) : Nearly 600 to 800 baskets of betel leaves are brought daily from different area of Karimpur, West Bengal at the Burdwan Railway Station for parcel booking but the consignees are facing genuine problems at the station.
Although the vehicles brining the baskets start arriving at the station from early morning they are not allowed to approach the parcel office till 12.00 Noon. Due to this very little time is left to get the correct weight of the baskets before loading into the trains which wait for limited period only. Moreover, the consignees have to bear heavy coolie charges as the baskets have to be carried to Platform No. 2 or 3 instead of Platform No. 1 which is very near to the parcel office. So, the train No. 3151 UP, 3049 UP and 3911 UP may be rescheduled to stop at Platform No. 1.
Remedial measures may immediately be taken to redress the greivances of the consignees.
