Prayer:This Writ Petition has been filed, seeking for a writ of Mandamus directing the 1 to 3 respondents take into consideration of the exact marks secured by the petitioner in the physical proficiency test dated 14.07.1998 to select the petitioner (Code No.012773) for the post of Sub-inspector and send him for medical examination and police verification and appoint him as a sub-inspector of police with all the accruing benefits with effect from the year 1997-98. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.
2.At this stage of the hearing of the writ petition, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents had pointed out that a number of Writ Petitions, with similar prayers, have already been dismissed by this Court, on the ground of ‘Laches’. It has been stated that such Orders have been passed by this Court, in W.P.Nos.2711, 30774 to 30776, 11850, 13932, 14954, 14955, 16482 to 16487 of 2005 and in other similar Writ Petitions.
Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed on the ground of ‘Laches’. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
